PMI is abbreviation for positive material identification.It is one of the non-destructive analysis of a metallic alloy to ensure product or alloy quality as per requirement. PMI testing is very quick to identify the constituent elements and their quantities. It could be used on the spot (on-site) examination to verify the compliance of material certificates of composition.This quick testing method is widely used in various industries.
The test is usually performed by using a handheld positive material identification gun. By putting the gun to the material for a specified time,it automatically shows the element compositions in its screen.
